Established since 1995, The Cortez Club has become the premier Scuba Diving, Sport fishing and water sports
center in Baja California. With its operations based at La Concha Beach resort it expanded to the newly developed Costa Baja Marina & Resort and soon to be located at both Playa De La Paz and Maravia resort.
The Cortez Club is owned by James Curtiss who chose La Paz (the city of peace) for its totally unique qualities. In particular the Islands of Espiritu Santo and Cerralvo, the strong contrasts of desert meets sea, its appealing year round climate, its friendly and unspoilt inhabitants but most of all James recognized that the “pursuit of happiness” ultimately meant … La Paz, Mexico.
The Cortez Club prides itself on service and combined with the beauty that the “Sea of Cortez” has to offer, provides “you” the client, with everlasting memories. We offer a wide range of aquatic activities including: scuba diving, sport fishing, whale watching, and a range of water sports.
Scuba Diving Day diving trips 2 or 3 tanks, liveaboard diving expeditions and instruction from “open water” certification through to“ instructor”. Nitrox and rebreathers are also available for the more experienced divers.
Is available from late December through to mid April. Daily trips to the pacific bay of Magdalena, a breading ground for the Gray Whales, allow you to have close encounters with these magnificent mammals.
The Mosquito Fishing Fleet Provides a range of sport fishing boats from 22ft Pangas, 26ft deluxe Pangas, 28ft Cruisers through to 75 ft yachts. The waters of La Paz provide world class fishing, with species such as Black and Blue Marlin, Dorado, Wahoo, Yellow fin Tuna, Yellow Tail, Amberjack, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Sea bass, Snapper and more.
