The IDC staff’s pledge is that you get the absolute best possible support and back-up during the IDC, making it an efficient and enjoyable experience. In this relaxed and well-tutored environment you will benefit immensely from our program.
Our IDC Staff is available for questions and assistance when preparing home assignments, presentations and general considerations. This is a unique part of our program.
We also know the importance of having IDC Staff Instructor speaking your first language; available to clarify language related questions, if needed.
During the IDC we include several additional staff presentations. Our experience tells us that what you really need to become successful, both during the IE and in the future, our extra knowledge development and open water teaching presentations, open water workshops and additional water skills practice really pays off!
Extra Workshops and presentations in your IDC include: Dive Theory, Rescue practice, Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascents, Hovering, Descents, knot tying, lift bag use and how to control large groups of students when conditions are less than favourable.
Optional presentations include: Positive Approach Selling and Career Tracking Tips for the Diving Professional, how to teach the eRDPML and eLearning.

You will learn the technique of classroom and lecture presentations, confined and open water presentations stressing student control and the use of the PADI teaching aids, such as videos, CDRoms and manuals.
Also included is an extensive review of dive theory, plus additional skill development workshops to sharpen and fine tune your in water skills.
Every person taking our programs is important to us. So, at Cortez Club you will not be treated as a number. We like to keep our classes small so that we can give you all the personal attention you need and deserve.
Throughout your course you will receive individualized counseling and feedback regarding your performance. We want you not only to be able to easily pass the Instructor Examination, but to thoroughly prepare you to begin your career in the dive industry.
Our dedicated team of experienced Course Directors and Staff Instructors are always available at the facility after hours to help you with academic study or IDC assignments. A Cortez Club Course Director will also attend the PADI Instructor Examination with you, giving you added support and confidence.
The Sea of Cortez has the reputation of being the richest sea in the world for both number of species and population size. That is why the Sea of Cortez is voted one of the Top Ten Dive Destinations in the World year after year! There are few places in the world where you can dive with sea lions, whale sharks, giant manta rays and schooling hammerhead sharks!
Our water temperatures vary from 21 to 29 degrees / 70 to 84 degrees, which provides diving all year round, with an average visibility of 20 meters / 65 feet.
La Paz is very accessible through gateways all around the world. You have some choices to which airport you fly into, either San Jose del Cabo or La Paz. Whatever gateway you fly into we will be there to pick you up.
La Paz has fabulous beaches than any other large city in Baja! It is possible to find beautiful beaches with plenty of activity, or completely secluded beaches where there isn’t a soul for miles.
La Paz nightlife tends to be relaxed and more social; but, it ranges from tame to whatever your preference is.
