Baja Scuba Diving Report - January 25th 2006

25th January 2006

Hola Amigos,

Diving in La Paz has never been better!

It is a pleasure for me to inform you that we are still having the great opportunity to swim with the Whale Sharks, not to far from The Cortez Club like 2 miles south west you can start to see them. We do everyday trips to see them before we go to the places where you can do your first dive of the day.

The water temperature is around 62 to 65 F so, you better use your 5 or 7 mm wetsuit, the visibility in some of the dive sites is around 30 to 50 feet and some days at El Bajo the visibility have been very good around 60 feet enough to enjoy watching the Hammerhead Sharks and big schools of fish that makes you feel part of that life.

The Sea Lions never stop playing when you are diving around them and also you can feel sometimes that they know that you really want to see them playing around and get the best opportunity to take a picture of them.

The good news at the moment is also that we just started with the Whale Watching trips to Magdalena Bay in the pacific side, three hours driving from La Paz to Puerto San Carlos or Puerto Lopez Mateos where you can enjoy 2 hours on the boat watching the Whales jumping and also you can see them when they get close to the boat and that give you the opportunity to touch them and make this one of the best dreams in your life.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to come to La Paz to enjoy these beautiful experiences in the Sea of Cortez and Bahia Magdalena.

I hope to see you soon.

All the best,

The Crew
The Cortez Club
