Ok, its time once again for the Cortez Club to be kind and share our great experiences of the Baja Sur. And, as we are lucky enough to be out on and within the sea all year around, its only fair to let you have some experience of it too.
At the moment we are logging surface water tempratures of 82 to 86 degrees, with a temperature drop off to 78 to 84 degrees below. Perfect conditions for scuba diving and snorkelling. With the water being calm and the surfaces so flat, those of you who do not wish to scuba dive, can head out snorkelling and can experience our seas without even moving a muscle. We have a great many sights to choose from.
Water visibility is usually hard to predict at this time of year, but so far we have been getting great reports back from our guests with no complaints of poor visibility so far. Good news for you divers out there, and also for those of you who choose to snorkel.
But for those out there who are hooked on exploring the sea at depth, you will not be leaving here disappointed as there seems to be an abundance of marine activity here at the moment. We have had reports of Marlin sightings, and of course the big stars of the show the Hammerheads at El Bajo if the water is not too warm.
There seems to be an abundance of Whale Shark activity here too at the moment, and lets face it we never get tired of seeing these friendly giants of the sea. We are lucky enough to see them all year around here, but who are we to complain if more want to come and visit us. As you love them so much our Captains are always happy to slow the boat for our customers to have a closer look. Last week back at the base we had reports of Orca and Pilot Whales joining our boats.
Then there are our Sea lions who are always on hand to provide you with some great entertainment. So do not be surprised if the more playful ones of the group give you a nudge to say hello. They seem to like seeing our divers physically jump in the water, and lets face it if we were they we couldn`t resist it either.
